Following the successful launch of Tam O’shanter, Cutty Sark wanted to tap further into the connoisseur and collector market by releasing their oldest whisky to date. It was crucial that the bottling had premium cues and celebrated Cutty Sarks rich history.

Continuing the exploration of the history, heritage and origin of the brand, we wanted to commemorate the first time Cutty Sark was introduced to the US market in the 1920s and early 30s. During this time period the whisky found its way into America and flourished within the emerging cocktail culture.

We designed a pack symbolic of the time period. We created bespoke illustrations and graphics for use across the packaging and colateral reflecting the Art Deco aesthetic.

Presented in a piano black wooden box inlaid with mother of pearl, the bespoke heavyweight bottle is decorated with sunburst and geometric designs reminiscent of the 1920s and 1930s.

We brought the premium cues through the use of gold foil across the pack and etching graphics directly onto the glass decanter.

We designed a 32-page book detailing the brand history and the Art Deco time period. Using premium materials, we bound the book in leather and blind embossed Art Deco details into the cover. A suite of bespoke illustrations feature throughout the book.

We brought together archive footage and cinematic product shots of the pack to create a launch film as part of the campaign. The film celebrated each part of the packaging and the details within each through stylised tight shots before revealing a full pack shot at the end.

We shot and retouched a suite of images for use across the campaign.
